Global warming issues have been razing the world with the construction sector being the main contributor. The world over there is a search for eco-friendly materials and technologies in the construction sector, to put a cap on carbon emissions while still keeping a reasonable pace of development. Bamboo has been a major construction material traditionally and with all the advancements in the sector fits the bill perfectly. It is ecological and economical, and very much a social material.

Most of the people practicing Sustainable architecture and development face a severe dearth of authentic data, compiled information, and guidance in designing and executing their projects. This is even more apparent for Bamboo as a material of contemporary construction. This has been the biggest hurdle for people to use bamboo in their buildings and in mainstreaming bamboo in the building sector.

Lately, a lot of awareness has come about on the usage of Bamboo in the building sector with several architects, engineers, designers, etc. wanting to use bamboo in their projects. • The Second volume provides detailed guidance on the entire construction process, from foundation to roof, for various types of buildings, applicable globally.
